Infants – 5th Grade
Our purpose is to partner with parents as we provide a secure and welcoming place where children are loved, valued and nurtured in their faith as they become committed followers of Jesus Christ.
Your First Visit
When your family is visiting our Bethany Kids Ministry for the first time, come see one of our lobby attendants at the desk in the Kids Building lobby and introduce yourself! We’ll help you feel welcomed and get your family registered. (You will be able to use our automated check-in system each week going forward!) You will receive three name tags: one for your child, one to give their teacher, and your guardian pick-up receipt.
As you pick up your family, you must show the pick-up receipt to our security attendant as you enter the building and then give it to the teacher as you pick up your child. (If you misplace your receipt, see the lobby attendant and we’ll work things out!)
Please keep your cell phone on vibrate so that we can contact you, usually by text message, if the need arises.
As fellow parents, we understand the urgency of safety in ministry for children. We have a well-designed safety system in place and we regularly re-evaluate and make improvements to our systems and protocol. All Bethany Kids Ministry volunteers are required to submit to a thorough background check and attend occasional training workshops.
What we do
Connect & Serve events
We want our children to connect and serve with each other, their leaders, and their families. Most months during the school year include family events to foster connection between families. We offer service opportunities as part of the growth path for children in their relationship with Christ. A few of our family connection events are also service opportunities.
Sunday Kids Ministry
Our greatest focus during our Sunday Kids Ministry is to help children understand that the Bible is more than a collection of stories; it is a unified and true story of redemption. During Bethany’s 9:30am service, children ages 3 years through 5th Grade are taught to connect the Bible to the real world through teaching from the Answers in Genesis curriculum. During the 11:00am service, they will develop their biblical foundation and global perspective through creative class time. Grade-level children will participate in Scripture-based music and creative worship, Bible memory, and hands-on activities and games that enhance the learning objective before taking home a family devotional to support continued biblical conversations through the week
Our nursery’s mission is to support parents and guardians in their spiritual growth by providing a safe nurturing environment for their infants and toddlers. Every month we review the sizes of our rooms and our child-worker ratios and adjust them accordingly.
** Wednesday Clubs will resume in the Spring of 2020. There are no Wednesday evening clubs taking place this Fall. **
Our Wednesday evening clubs for boys and girls, ages 3 years through 5th grade, gather from 6:30-8:00pm from September – April. Kids can join anytime during the year.
Boys and girls in Kindergarten through 5th Grade will participate in games, activities, and lessons that are designed to help kids put Christ in every phase of life. Pre-Kindergarten children will participate in weekly Bible stories, songs, playtime, snack, and memory work each week.
Pre-registration for our 2018-2019 Wednesday Kids Clubs is now open! This pre-registration form will only be available through Monday, September 10. After that date, please register in person on the night of Clubs.
Each Summer, we use high-energy programming to host hundreds of children at our Vacation Bible School program. VBS is open to the public for kids age 4 through entering 6th grade. A VBS program for ages 0–3 is provided for the children of our volunteers. Kids rotate through fun sessions that include games, Imagination Station, Bible, snack, and an energy-filled opening and closing program.
